his is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today, we hear from Zainub and Ben Faulkner-Malik of The Montague Rose Bed & Breakfast in Saint Andrews.
WE WANTED TO FEEL PRIDE AND A SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT WITH OUR DAYS. WE WANTED TO BUILD SOMETHING NOT ONLY FOR OURSELVES BUT FOR OUR FAMILY TO ENJOY AND HAVE IN THE FUTURE.
We are 100 percent passionate about giving an excellent guest experience in both the Bed and Breakfast and Tea Room and every time we meet new guests or finish a project around the house we truly do feel happy with what we are doing. The driving factor was to not let time pass us by while working solely for money.
Saint Andrews is full of entrepreneurs and small businesses so not only do we appreciate when others support us, but we have the opportunity to support local on a daily basis. It makes us think more critically about the products we buy, and also the way we behave when we eat locally. We know how hard each owner works to put out their best so we try to be accommodating and helpful when we are frequenting their establishments.
With the success of summer 2021, we are hoping to fine-tune our operations, continue renovating and updating this 1859 historic house and property, and also start employing. We want the tea room to be open daily as opposed to by reservation and also to offer more items on the menu. For the Bed and Breakfast, we will continue to update the interiors with modern comforts while enhancing the traditional charm.
