This is the 20th in a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Every day, a new portrait will be shared through Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Huddle, a media partner with Love for Local.

BEGINNING WITH THE STRAIGHTFORWARD DESIRE TO BRING THE WORLD’S BEST COFFEE TO ATLANTIC CANADA AND BEYOND, CONOR CONWAY, MATT SYMES, AND ZACH DALLAIRE LAUNCHED MONCTON-BASED EPOCH CHEMISTRY IN JUNE 2019.

Connecting the coffee dots to take you from “coffee tastes like coffee” to the discovery of more adventurous flavours, this passion project doesn’t cease to amaze its clientele. Connor Conway sees the link between local and global every day in the tasting room.

“The idea of connecting Moncton and New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada to a larger purpose around the world really excites us. When we talk about the story of the farmer that’s making our coffee, maybe some of the hardships or obstacles they’ve overcome or are overcoming – I love tying our community into that. That real cohesion of globalism doesn’t take away from local.”

“We’re still supporting a local business, we still have a lot of local entities here. But that connection to that farmer in Brazil that we get our coffee from, or even if we’re sourcing our coffee from an importer – I like to create the story of who that is.”
