This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today, we hear from Sonia Kenny and Walter Morrison of Miramichi Meat Ltd. in Miramichi.

COMING FROM A FAMILY OF BUSINESS OWNERS AND HELPING RUN OUR FAMILY RESTAURANT FOR 20 YEARS, AND WITH WALTER WORKING OUT WEST FOR 12 YEARS AND WANTING TO COME BACK TO MIRAMICHI, WE SAW THIS AS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY WHEN WE FOUND OUT MIRAMICHI MEAT LTD WAS FOR SALE, AND WE BECAME THE NEW OWNERS LAST SEPTEMBER.
This has been a successful small business for almost 70 years that was started by the Comeau family back in 1952 and we wanted to continue the success of the business in keeping with what the Comeau’s made it to be.

Supporting local means that, because of our customers, we are able to keep our doors open and provide jobs to 11 people in our community. Their continuous support makes it possible for us to grow as a business and offer a service to them and for that, we are very grateful and would like to say thank you to everyone who keeps supporting us every day.

Supporting local businesses has a real impact because this provides local jobs and services to our community, and local support means that businesses can support the community in return.
