This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today, we hear from Ryan Browne of Handsome Devils Barber Shop in Moncton.
STARTING OUT, I HAD A HARD TIME FINDING A PLACE THAT WOULD HIRE ME BECAUSE OF THE NUMBER OF TATTOOS I HAD SHOWING. SO OUT OF NECESSITY, I OPENED UP SHOP!
Supporting local is more important now than ever it seems. I want individuality and culture and friendly familiar service from the businesses I deal with. That’s something you can pretty much only find in small local businesses.
Moving forward, the plan is to keep grinding through the summer rush and take some time for team activities! Our line of work has been quite challenging this past year and I think team activities are much deserved. We’re a fun shop, and it’s important that we keep having fun.
