This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today, we hear from Paul Bedford of QC Pumps & Compressors Ltd.
AFTER WORKING FOR LARGER COMPANIES AND SEEING A GAP FOR A PROFESSIONAL BLENDED INDUSTRIAL AND RETAIL SHOP, WE MADE THE DECISION TO GENERATE WHAT WE SAW AS A FULL SERVICE AND RETAIL BUSINESS SERVING EVERYONE FROM LARGE INDUSTRIAL CUSTOMERS TO HOMEOWNERS.
We are always watching for market gaps and how we can diversify to adapt to these needs. We have grown our services and products tremendously in the past 5 years from just industrial equipment to now having home sump pump systems, workwear and boots and so much more.
Supporting local is the key to a vibrant community. When you purchase items at a local level, that money stays and revolves around our community. It pays wages, is reinvested and passed along many times. When we all shop local, we also need to keep in mind, that these are the local businesses that help support our minor sports teams, community parks and events, and so much more.
For me, I will continue down the path I have created of giving back to my community with my involvement with the Sussex & District Chamber of Commerce, Girls Softball Coach, Sussex Asphalt Angels Car Club and JA New Brunswick. Within our company, we will continue to look for new and innovative ways to help our customers. Now at our new location, we have room to grow.
