This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today, we hear from Nausika Breau of Apple Art Gallery in Moncton.
BEING IN BUSINESS IS A NECESSITY FOR ME. PERSONALLY, APPLE ART GALLERY IS MORE THAN SELLING ART AND PROMOTING LOCAL ARTISTS. IT’S MY WAY OF BEING MY MOST CREATIVE SELF AND CONNECTING WITH PEOPLE. IT’S THAT FUNNY LITTLE PART INSIDE OF ME THAT JUST CAN’T HELP IT!
In the madness that has been the last few months, the most beautiful outcome is how our community is supporting one another. We’ve always known the importance of supporting your neighbour but now everyone seems to be more conscious of where they spend their dollars.
I love the fact that I have a personal connection with my artists and that I can share their passions with my clients. I’ve been listening to what our clients want and for that reason, decided to expand the selection of gift items in the Gallery.
Deux Pépins is the fun section of the gallery where we get to showcase a large variety of beautifully handcrafted items from all over New Brunswick and the Maritimes. As a small business, I made the choice to represent solely Moncton-based professional artists and to sell locally handcrafted items.
It’s also important for me to buy local materials for running my day-to-day business. A purchase is much more than a purchase when one item sold has the power to help grow the businesses of multiple local individuals.
