This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today, we hear from Karen Seeley of Past to Present in St. Stephen.

I MOVED TO NEW BRUNSWICK IN MAY 2020 LOOKING FOR A NEW ADVENTURE. I AM ALWAYS OPEN TO GROW AND EXPLORE THE POSSIBILITIES OF WHAT LIFE HAS TO BRING. YOU KNOW THE SAYING “OLD DOGS CAN LEARN NEW TRICKS?” – WELL THAT’S WHAT ULTIMATELY DROVE ME TO SELF-EMPLOYMENT.
I think one of the most positive things that have come out of this pandemic is the desire for people to support local businesses.

I pride myself in showcasing talented local artisans and I love that this shop gives everyone that experience. We are not your typical antique store as the whole front end of the store features various gifts for all occasions, a pantry section for the foodies out there and the back end of the shop features everything from mid-century, and vintage to many antiques! The time you spend here will be a great experience and the feedback has been amazing!

Overall, owning this store has allowed me the privilege to do what I love and ultimately become very connected to my community and make connections with all the wonderful people who come into the shop.

Supporting local businesses has a real impact because you are supporting the people in your community. You are supporting the local talent and inspiring others to do the same.
