This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series calledNB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today, we hear from Kaitlyn Sutton of SoulFlower SalonSpa in Moncton.

I HAVE HAD A LIFELONG DREAM OF OWNING MY OWN SALON AND SPA. AS MY CAREER EVOLVED, I BECAME PASSIONATE ABOUT WORKING WITH A COMPANY THAT ALIGNED WITH MY VALUES AND THAT COULD OFFER OUR GUESTS HIGH-QUALITY AND EFFECTIVE PRODUCTS THAT ARE GOOD FOR THEM AND THE ENVIRONMENT.

I always tried to support local whenever possible, however, this past year has shown me how much better we can all do. Without our community and the support from the people within it, our locally owned businesses can’t thrive. We love and appreciate our guests just as much as they love their time with us.

Right now we are just happy to be on the other side of this! We have plans for continued growth but plan to take a little time to recover and be thankful for coming through the other side.

Supporting local is so meaningful because we cannot survive without our community. It makes me feel proud when I choose another local business over a box store option. I know I’m supporting a person, a dream and a family.
