This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Every day, a new portrait will be shared through Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Huddle, a media partner with Love for Local.
THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR GREATER MONCTON HAS BEEN THE VOICE OF THE GREATER MONCTON BUSINESS COMMUNITY SINCE 1891, WORKING TO PROMOTE THE SUCCESS OF OUR MEMBERS AND FOSTER THE WELLBEING OF THE OVERALL BUSINESS COMMUNITY.
The chamber’s vision has always been to help propel the Greater Moncton region to unrivalled economic growth, leading New Brunswick to a prosperous future. Today, its membership is comprised of over 750 businesses from Dieppe, Moncton, Riverview and surrounding areas representing 30,000 members. The non-profit organization is funded through membership fees and fundraising efforts.
“We saw last year the positive impact strategic support local initiatives can have on businesses’ bottom lines and consumer confidence,” says chamber CEO John Wishart. “I know our business communities need it and I am confident our citizens will support it. Better days are on the horizon. Let’s push local for 2021 as a bridge to get us there.”
