This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today, we hear from Debbie Thibodeau of Deb’s Delivery Service in Miramichi.
I HAD AN ELDERLY RELATIVE WHO HAD DIFFICULTY GETTING GROCERIES DUE TO MOBILITY ISSUES.
As I was doing this for her, I heard several times from various people that it was a service that was needed in our region, especially with people living in the outlying areas, who had no mode of public transportation, so it seemed like a natural fit. As our reputation for customer service and convenience spreads, we can continue to positively impact our community, especially our seniors.
I have learned that our community really steps up to support local businesses. We sometimes don’t realize just how far a word can travel, but when you’ve started a small business like mine and you meet new people daily, it never fails to impress me when they say that they had heard about us through word of mouth.
Supporting local businesses has a real impact because we are owned and operated by the same people that live in your community. We are your friends, family members and neighbours!
