This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today, we hear from Cyndie Lanteigne of Lanteigne Sports in Caraquet.

I BECAME AN ENTREPRENEUR BECAUSE I CHOSE TO FOLLOW IN MY PARENTS’ FOOTSTEPS. THEY SET A GREAT EXAMPLE FOR ME GROWING UP AND IT WAS ONLY NATURAL FOR ME TO CHOOSE THIS PATH FOR MY ADULT LIFE.

If the past year has taught us anything, it is that people are very open to choosing local products and services. I think most of us have realized that buying local is the key to success for many, in more than one way. I hope to one day expand my building, so I can have all the departments in the same location.

We’re growing, and that brings its own challenges, but it’s also very satisfying to be able to plan for the future. We couldn’t think too far ahead without the continued support of our clients. Supporting local businesses has a real impact because, together, we will succeed in having the most profitable local economy. People in a community help each other, and buying locally is a form of mutual support that benefits everyone.
