This is part of a year-long ‘Love for Local’ series called NB365: portraits of New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations. Huddle is a media partner with Love for Local. Today, we hear from Brian Harriman, Brad Devarennes and Kolin Barley of the Pump House Brewery in Moncton.
LIVING AND DOING BUSINESS IN N.B. HAS MANY ADVANTAGES. OUR GOVERNMENTS AND COMMUNITIES ARE ALWAYS SUPPORTIVE AND OPEN TO WORK TO SEE LOCAL BUSINESSES GROW.
Plus, with the benefits of a very low cost of doing business (leases, utilities, and taxes) combined with so many options to maintain a proper work-life balance, dollar for dollar, New Brunswick is one of the best places to live and work in Canada. To top it off, the people here are hard-working, friendly and enjoy life. Ask anyone who visits here how they thought of us. They always say how easy-going and nice we all are.
Pump House Brewery is motivated to build its legacy in our community. For centuries, the history of cities, towns and communities worldwide always includes a chapter on the local brewery. We even have a story like that right here in N.B.
Over the past 150+ years, our friends at Moosehead have become part of the fabric of their community and our province. We want the story of Pump House Brewery to be part of the history of Moncton and New Brunswick and be on the list with all the many other great breweries that have been built throughout history around the world.
We are also motivated to continue learning and growing as entrepreneurs. Whether it’s new brewing techniques, new ways to make our production more efficient, better ways to take care of our staff, or discovering new products or styles of beer that we think our customers are going to love, we are always looking to build on what we have done, learn from our mistakes and grow as a company and as people.
Finally, we are so motivated by that look we see on our customers’ faces when they crack a Pump House beer, take that first drink and we know they like it before they even say a word. That’s pretty cool.
The support from New Brunswickers allows us to prove that we can build world-class companies right here in little ol’ Moncton, New Brunswick.
